Yoga and Creative Expression: How movement and imagination can free us from old stories and encourage deep transformation.

This workshop is open to people of all ages and experience levels. We will lead you through a series of gentle introductory yoga poses and corresponding personal reflection and creation.

In a nurturing environment we will aim to strengthen the relationship between body, art, and spiritual growth. This is an opportunity to play–– to return to the childlike joy of movement and creativity and to embrace new questions and reframe old obstacles.

To attendees: Please bring a notebook, pen, and whatever other artistic medium you prefer. Please wear comfortable loose fitting clothing and bring a yoga mat if you have one. (Additional mats will also be provided.)

Career Night: Inspire The Next Generation

Mentors, RAW friends, and community professionals, JOIN US and share stories and advise about your career path. This is a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of leaders - the teens of RAW!

Career Night has become a coveted event for our teens as they begin to make big decisions about their futures.

February 25, 6:30-8:30.

They Look Like Me 2.5.15

Raw Art Works (RAW) ignites the desire to create and the confidence to succeed in underserved youth. TL²M is an initiative to empower and support RAW’s youth, in order to explore their identity, envision a positive future and develop a plan to get there - all through the arts.

Our goal is to build a network of professionals of color who can serve as concrete examples of success while acting as mentors to assist our youth in the pursuit of a higher education or training. Last year’s TL²M hosted 20+ professionals who shared their stories and related with our youth as they made art and learned about RAW.

The theme this year will be “Real Talk - Challenge, Choice and Outcome.” RAW is creating a safe environment for you and our youth to have real and honest dialogue about “what’s really going on.” We want your perspective on present day events which can help our youth deal with the realities they face as they choose to reach for their future.

We are asking you to offer your valuable time to our youth, to begin important conversations that expose our kids to the business of success.
