RAW welcomes volunteer support in a variety of capacities. However, as an art therapy based organization, confidentiality and trust are critical within our artists groups. Therefore, volunteers do not work directly with youth artists, unless as a formal visiting artist, but do have an opportunity to make a significant impact on a high school student’s future through a unique relationship in Project Launch our college mentoring program.

Volunteer hours directly support RAW’s financial goals and help to keep RAW’s programming free to our over 1,200 youth artists. Volunteers help at the organizational level by assisting with mailings, which include our annual appeals and newsletters, computer projects, and through short shifts doing various tasks at our annual BASH: Party with a Purpose fundraiser in the spring. In fiscal year 2010, volunteer hours contributed to helping RAW raise over $250,000 in individual gifts.

We hope you find RAW a rewarding place to volunteer. In an age when “free time” is almost unheard of, we are so grateful to those willing to assist us in accomplishing our mission. On behalf of our staff, board, and students, we thank you in advance for helping to ignite the desire to create and the confidence to succeed in our youth.
