Pop Art

This groups’ acronym stands for Playground of Possibilities! Young artists use a large variety of materials to create art through play and exploration. Traditional and non-traditional instruction is given for kids to learn new skills, connect with others and to feel proud of their creations.

RAW Energy

Young artists learn creative ways of expressing themselves and connecting with the peers and staff in their group through the use of mixed media projects. Support and instruction are provided for youth to create artwork that speaks from the heart.

Studio Time 1

A studio art group where kids explore different materials from 2D to 3D and build self-esteem through artistic expression and experimentation.

Mariposa

A mentor-based, all-girls group for 4th and 5th graders, supporting the development of positive identity through the arts.

Middle School

AMP Middle School

Art-motivated middle schoolers in AMP (Art Motivates People) dive deep into a variety of art forms. Painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture, and illustration give participants a chance to explore identity and the world around them.

Embark

A mentor-based group for artists who identify as female, non-binary, trans, or marginalized genders who want to work on building confidence, self-image, and supportive relationships through conversation and art-making.

Boyz Lync

A mentor-based, all-boys group helping to build confidence, self-image, and supportive relationships while making art.

Studio Time 2

A dynamic, creative group, that uses art to connect and explore identity. All forms of media are utilized and imagination guides their artistic journey.

Wall Wise

Wall Wise is a public art group that engages in a wide variety of projects from painting, to drawing to building! Youth learn to work in teams and as creative artists to make art with a message. Many of these young artists will go on to be a part of RAW’s high school public art teams.

KickstART 1

An introductory group designed to spark a familiarity with art and build meaningful connections with peers and staff at RAW. Artists will explore various 2D and 3D materials and techniques to discover their creativity, individuality, and unique style.

Going Deeper in Studio

For youth interested in more in-depth art materials and techniques. Projects will include printmaking techniques focused on fine art printing as well as t-shirts, stickers, zines, mixed media, introductory letterpress, as well as sketching, drawing, and painting.

Camino

In this group, artists will address the topic of “change” in the dynamic life of middle schoolers. A wide range of art materials will be used to support creativity, connection, confidence, and the development of a positive identity.

Loud + Proud Middle

Middle school artists explore and question their identities in a safe space. The group is comprised of a community of similarly aged peers who identify as allies, questioning, or as LGBTQIA+. Though it will be held in the RAD Print Shop, many art materials will be explored, and topics will be youth-led. The artists create collaborative and individual work through mini books, stickers, posters, and other art materials.

 
 
 
 
Boys Lync

High School

AMP (Art Motivates People)

For art-motivated students who are committed to building art skills and to pushing themselves to try new art forms. Traditional and non-traditional materials are used, from oil paints to found-object sculptures. AMP is a great group for portfolio building.

Men 2 Be

A mentor-based, all-male group where life issues are explored and addressed through the arts to support young men preparing for their futures.

PULSE

A mentor-based group for artists who identify as female, non-binary, trans, or marginalized genders who want to work on building confidence, self-image, and supportive relationships through conversation and art making.

KickstART 2

WAMX (Womxn Art Muralists)

WAMX is made up of a team of young women, trans, non-binary, and artists of marginalized genders who work together to create positive change in their community through public art. Artists who have developed some art skills and are enthusiastic about working on a collaborative creative team are encouraged to interview for this group.

Good 2 Go (G2G)

G2G is made up of a team of young men who work together to create positive change in their community through public art.

Loud + Proud

A safe, creative group for high school students who identify as LGBTQIA+, questioning or as an ally to explore LGBTQIA+ experiences. A variety of art techniques will be explored! There will be some focus on community engagement and collaboration through zines, posters, and stickers. Though it will be held in the RAD Print Shop, many art materials will be explored.

DIG (Drop in Group)

RAW’s only drop-in group, designed for youth to explore a wide variety of artistic projects, without requiring consistent attendance at RAW. During the school year, minimum attendance of once per month is required.

Artists in Action

A civic engagement group focused on creating social change and positively impacting our local community through the arts.

RAW Chiefs

RAW Chiefs is a leadership development program where teen leaders help facilitate RAW’s visual arts groups for younger artists. They will also contribute to RAW and city-wide community-building efforts.

*All high school juniors and seniors will also be automatically enrolled in Project Launch, RAW’s college access and career exploration program.
