Christine T. Rafal

Grants Managers

Christine Théberge Rafal, EdD, started her career teaching in public and private schools in New Hampshire, worked on developing several assessments for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, wrote online professional development courses for PBS Teacherline, and led the team that developed the original PBS Parents Guide to Creativity (which was the most visited region of their website during the 11+ years it ran). Supporting creative youth development turned out to be her passion. She fosters enrichment in two senses of the word: 1) having directly facilitated play, crafts, field trips, and other informal learning experiences in after-school programs in Somerville, MA and Medford, MA and 2) helping ensure other educators have the financial resources to support learning and creative youth development, which she has done through elected school board service and through grant-seeking work at Artists for Humanity and at Boston Children’s Chorus.

In her personal time, she likes to swim, sew, paint, do online crosswords with family, explore new trails and places, and frequent Fenway Park. She is delighted to join the team at RAW to help continue enriching the creative development of RAW’s wonderful participants.

Christine joined the team at RAW in 2023.
